We are having a fundraiser for the Reed family. You may remember last spring when we were desperately trying to help our dear friends bring home their sweet Sophia who went to be with Jesus. Well, God has performed a miracle match with their treasured daughter Talia (you can read more HERE about their amazing story how God reunited them over time.)



We are selling Totes and T-shirts to help bring Talia home!!

Joy

 Sixteen months ago our precious son received his first hug. It has been incredible journey of growth for each of us in our family. As we look back there were many bumps in the road to get him here, and many long hard days once he was here, but now there is nothing in the world I would trade for this life of JOY!

Can you see the joy he has. Jesus has filled his heart. He finally is understanding the unconditional love of a family. The other day he walked by and gave me a kiss on the cheek and said, "I love you mom." He understands love is to be received and given. This boy brings so much joy to our lives. He always is making you smile with something he does or says. I love just watching each new thing he discovers and the excitement it brings. We have crossed the point where we can't remember life without him. Adoption is such an amazing gift from God, you get to watch a life drastically transform right before your eyes.

We Have Traveled so Far

One year ago today we were exhausted and so happy to finally be home in the US with our new son Cargan.

We had traveled so far to get here and for the next 12 months we would travel through an incredible journey with God that would allow all of us to be stretched to our max and grow beyond measure. God has blessed our lives so much through this joyful determined boy.
Cargan is home for one year!

 He has brought so much to our family. There have been some really hard days but also so many days so full of laughter and joy. It has been an amazing journey, one we would do again if the Lord should call.  Be still and listen to what the Lord is calling you to do and then obey with all your heart. It will be the most amazing journey you will ever experience and it will take you so far beyond anything you could ever imagine.

First want to say Thank you again to everyone who gave, shared and prayed for the Reed family to help them be fully funded to travel.

I now want to say I’m sorry to those of you who are not on Face book. I realize I had not shared here the tragic news of Sophia going to the arms of Jesus on February 8th.  It has been a heartbreaking time and much prayer is still needed for the Reed family. It has been a difficult two weeks. Earlier this week I was able to visit the family and I just want to say this family is such a blessing and just shines the love of Christ even during such a difficult time of mourning. I am happy to share their announcement below that they have their schedule to go and bring Joel home. Please continue to pray for this family and join them on this precious journey bringing home their son.

CLANG! CLANG!! CLANG!!! Everybody Listen Up!!!! Joel has an IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT to make....MY FAMILY IS COMING FOR ME NEXT WEEK!!!!

So, YES!!!! Another surprise turn of events in this CRAZY adoption journey!!! We are so excited to let you know that we will be flying to CHINA NEXT WEDNESDAY, February 26th to begin our journey of bringing JOEL home!!! PRAISE BE TO GOD, Joel will FINALLY be in our arms FOREVER on March 3rd! We will remain in Joel's Province for a week and then continue on to Guangzhou where we will complete his Consulate Appointment and secure his Visa. Joel will fly home with us on March 14th and will become a US Citizen and the newest member of the Reed Family!!!

We thank each and every one of you who has followed us and supported us on this journey to Joel as well as everyone who has stood by us to offer their condolences, love, and support as we continue to process through our sorrow of loosing Sophia. We cannot begin to express our deepest gratitude! We know that God has a plan in all of this and are expectant to see the "beauty from ashes" that are to come.

We will be keeping a "Daily Travel Journal" on our website for Joel and we invite you to "come along" with us as we journey to China and back! We can't wait for you to meet our new son!

Fully Funded!!

We are OVERJOYED to ANNOUNCE that our adoption expenses for Joel and Sophia are...

FULLY FUNDED!!!!

We give praise and thanks to our God who moved the hearts of sooo many generous people who listened to that call to help us towards bringing Joel and Sophia home!  Just a week and a half ago we needed $14,000 to fully cover the rest of those adoption expenses...such a HUGE mountain, but not too big for our God and the hearts of His people!!!  That mountain has been obliterated and thrown into the sea!

We can never adequately express our gratitude to you! YOU have made this possible!!! YOU have made a LIFE-CHANGING and LIFE-SAVING difference in Joel and Sophia's lives and we are just in AWE and amazement of the outpouring of love upon our family and these two precious children!!!!  We are eternally thankful!  We cannot wait to share the rest of our Journey to Joel and Sophia with YOU!!!

And if that were not enough GOOD NEWS!!! We just got a call from a neighbor that our POWER is BACK ON!!!! REJOICING!!!!! Tomorrow we can move on to cleaning, getting everyone organized, and PACKING for CHINA!!!

Help Needed!!

I am so thankful for all of you who walked with us on our journey to bring Cargan home. The Lord has burdened my heart so deeply for the Reed family and I wanted to share a wonderful opportunity to be a part of a miracle helping two precious lives.  The Reed family is in the process of bringing home their two precious children. The have exhausted all avenues to fund their adoption and were $14,000 in need to be able to travel to get their children. It is pertinent that they leave on schedule on February 14th. Their precious little girl needs a life saving heart surgery.  God has been moving the mountain and a matching grant for $4,000 just came in. People have already begun giving towards the matching grant and if 800 people just give $10 they would be able to have the full amount to travel and bring home their children. Each One Matters

Today we cross the 8 month mark of Cargan coming into our family. My heart is so full of so many emotions. There are times I still can not believe he is really here and days when it feels like he has always been here. God has used his coming to forever change us.


 God has stretched me and taught me so much about myself these past months. Things I really didn't want to know about myself. I have had to once again surrender all expectations of what I thought would be and daily surrender myself to Christ. Seeking each moment what he wants me to do to further His kingdom.  With homeschooling, daily life as a mother and wife and 3-5 physical and occupational therapy appointments each week I am learning to be still and savor each moment we have together. I have enjoyed looking out the window watching my two boys play together in the snow. I have seen the joy of creating something together between sister and brother. I have heard tears, wailing and sorrow. I have heard laughter of three precious children in my home. But the greatest thing I have ever experienced is watching the love of our heavenly father pour out like a beam of light washing over our child.
    How God chose Cargan, plucked him out of darkness so that he could hear, see and feel the love of Christ just amazes me. Today when we were talking and I was snuggling with Cargan, Peter asked him if he ever got hugs in China. He immediately answered “never”.  It almost shattered my heart. To think this child had not ever been hugged in his seven years was to much for me to fathom.  As I write this am so thankful that God chose me to be Cargan’s mother so I can hold him and hug him every day. It has also amazed me how God has been revealing himself and his love to him.  Cargan was having a deep conversation with Peter about God on Thursday and then came and shared with me how in China he was taught about other gods that are not real and loved them a little but how now he knows about Jesus the one true God and He is changing his heart to love him much. What great joy to watch God slowly transforming one life right before our eyes.  One, yes one. So many would say in the overwhelming numbers of orphans, does it really matter. YES!!!  I can tell you with all my heart it matters for this one and it may be for eternity. Many more are waiting to hear and feel the love of Christ. Is God calling you surrender all for one????


This is one of the most powerful and direct sermons I have heard on how we are orphans and have been adopted into God’s family and what it really is like to adopt a child into an earthly family. It is long but so worth it. I challenge you to watch it.
