A Story of Love

Overwhelmed with Amazement!

Today I was reading my Bible about one of the miracles Jesus was performing. The people were overwhelmed with amazement. Yesterday our family was overwhelmed with amazement as a group of young ladies were the hands and feet for Christ. This group of girls which are called Girls for God or G4G for short had a Valentines Day Bake Sale to help raise money for Sarah’s plane ticket to go bring her brother home. We were overwhelmed with amazement at these girls. They followed the Lord’s leading and took action to make a difference.
Some of the girls from the group and Sarah

They made a beautiful flier for their sale I have to share their words as they capture Christ’s love.

“1Corinthians 13:4-7 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, love is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs, love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”

“Six girls. Six hearts. One club. Elizabeth, Katelyn, Anna, Amanda, Jessica, and Sophia are all a part of a club called Girls for God. G4G for short. We are selling Valentine’s treats to help raise money for Sarah’s plane ticket. Sarah is the older sister-to-be of Cargan, the boy her family is adopting from China. It is very expensive to adopt, let alone buy plane tickets. We decided to help Sarah raise money for her ticket and spread love to orphans. Please help Sarah out!”  John 15:12 “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”

“All over the country on February 14th love will be spread through chocolates and candy….
But around the world, even today, there are many orphans who have never known what love is. That is why we would like to invite you to share love with others while also helping the Lang family adopt Cargan, a boy from China who has probably never felt such love as you could help him get.”

Wow!!! We have been so overwhelmed with amazement with how God has been bringing people around us to help bring home our precious son.  I can’t wait to hear all the things this group of girls will do for the Kingdom of God!

Crying out to the Lord

Have you ever had a day feeling just so overwhelmed and your head is spinning. That was mine today. Trying to figure out 2 big fundraisers and the details that need to be figured out a.s.a.p. , making several calls, homeschooling, laundry, leaking pipes, piles of dishes, NO papers from China, and all the emotions of feeling overwhelmed and alone. I broke today and cried out to the Lord asking Him to help me because He is the only one who can truly help the ache in my soul. Honestly this has been one of the hardest journeys of my life and God is stretching me in so many ways at once that it hurts but oh how sweet it is when I can see His mighty hand move and put things together that only He can do. He doesn’t always answer in the ways I think but His ways are so much better. When I cried out to Him today, I then went upstairs and there in my email was a dear sister in Christ offering and already working on heading up one of the fundraisers. I just sat and cried. The God of the universe knows every detail of our lives and sometimes when it feels like no one is there He reminds us that He is always there. He keeps teaching me to “Be still and know that I am God”  I am learning to give each moment of each day to Him and not live in my expectations but to look where He is in each moment of the day because He is there. The Lord ended my day with a time with 2 sweet sisters in prayer and there is nothing sweeter than praising and praying to the God of the universe. Cry out to Him, He is listening!

Wow! What a Day!

Wow, when you ask for prayer- watch out!
I asked some folks for prayer and so much has happened.

No, our papers have not arrived from China so please keep this in prayer as we hope they come before the Chinese New Year which starts on the 9th.

Well, I asked for things to come together for fundraising and God has been answering.
A friend from my former years at Mops in Kutztown contacted me and offered to help with fundraising. This was a huge blessing as I really have no idea what I am doing! God is really stretching all my weaknesses with this adoption. It has challenged me to rely on him for everything! He has been giving me strength and connecting me with incredible people, many of them strangers. Today my head was spinning as I have been working on trying to get 2 fundraisers on the calendar and now I have 5 or more in the works.

I think we finally have a date for the 5K run/ 1 mile family walk/ kids run it is scheduled for April 13th so mark you calendars. More details will follow and anyone interested in helping with this please let me know. I am not a runner!!!  I am working with Pretzel City Sports to help with the race.

Today I meet with Tara at The Independent Space in Kutztown. (theindependentspace.com) This is an exciting place!! She is connecting people in the community. There are art, music, language classes, events and so much more. I went today to just see the space and see if we could use it for a fundraiser and came away blessed beyond words. This precious woman wants to help us anyway she can. They will be having a dinner this month and she just offered to have some of the proceeds go towards our adoption. (I will get more details about the dinner) Then she offered to have a wall dedicated to our adoption during one of her art shows in April. (Any of you artists out there who want to donate something let me know and I can get the details to you) Wow! I am sitting there blown away with how God just put 2 fundraisers together. We also are working on a special event to create something to put in the show. Details will hopefully be coming very soon for that.

If that was not enough, I then went to visit my friend who I told you about that teaches Chinese. I was sharing with her all about how God was putting all these things together and then she had an idea. She has all these beautiful Chinese things she had brought back from her trip and she was going to sell them but she gave them to us to sell and all the proceeds will go towards bringing Cargan home! (They will be on the blog soon!)

Our Friend Bree also connected us with an incredible woman who is opening a store on Feb. 9th called Gatherings and Blessing. It is in Hamburg at 322b State Street.  It will have all kinds of beautiful gifts from a variety of local artisans. The owner heard about our story and how Sarah is making tutus and asked her to bring some to the store. What a dream come true for Sarah. Ever since she was little she has made things and set up shop in the house or yard to sell them. Now she will have items in a real store. The owner is graciously giving all proceeds from the tutus to Sarah. She has been working hard to earn money to help bring her brother home. We hope you will stop by the store.
We are also still in the process of brainstorming a benefit auction. Another area I know nothing about so pray for wisdom.

Well, I hope you can see how God has been answering your prayers. Thank you for praying and please keep praying especial for that paperwork. There is so much to do for all this to come together. Pray for wisdom and strength to keep fighting the good fight.

Please also pray for Cargan, that God will be preparing his heart for coming home.
